Sorry I have not updated my notes.
I have been updating information on the site, most of which is related to peoples searching. I have been debugging sections and finding/writing fixes and improvements. I have noticed the map directions are not working because Google have updated information for the UK. I have fixed it now.

I've started adding quick links to more important information on the site. These quick links are relative to keyword searched from Google and stats. Some of the quick links are also from requests. I have added 'Libraries in Bolton' to start and will add new ones once I have compiled the information for display.

Added the a Property search facility to the property section.
I have only been able to add the pricing and bedroom functions for now but will add a search for all the Bolton postcodes. Have a go and email me your thoughts at info@boltonscene.com.

I've been having some reports that the pages are taking a long time to be delivered. I did a few test and yes we had a bottle neck. I have added site compression that will reduce the download time of pages by about 200%. I did a test and it has made a great improvement. Tell your friends it's good to use.
Great weather today though a little on the cold side, at least it isn't raining. Looks like most people are getting ready for christmas. The rush has started. If you are looking to get your christmas cake matured ready for the day I know someone doing large iced home made christmas cakes for £50, these are no ordinary xmas cake these are fully fortified and matured with brandy and festive fruits. send me an email at info@boltonscene.com if you are interested.

Blue skies today turning to cloud later. A friend of mine is getting married today, they have picked a great day. I've just sent our kids off to a party so I can do a few changes on the site.
First of all I have removed some navigation scripting on pages that don't need it. This should improve the speed. Also I noticed that the image on the Bolton Food and Drink Festival events section was a little too big for IE 6, I've reduced it slightly to fit.
I've added some colour changes to the left navigation / directories which will help people navigate better. I wanted to do this earlier but with work and everything I just missed it out.

Here we go, Septembers over with and another month starts. The Christmas rush is on. I've added some small banners to the left column just to say it's all done in Bolton. I do come from Bolton, born in Bolton and live and work ing Bolton. The site is Hosted in Bolton and I only spent time building it in Bolton.

Well it has been a nice day today. All I have done today is add better page titles and headers. Hopefully this will help you navigate the site better.

Change and styled the 'Get Directions'. People have been using it on the right but I felt it was dis-connected and should be part of the map.
I've added a 'request' item, so when you type in a keyword and get no results you can request the place you are looking for. I will research the request and add it asap.
Added an advertising placeholder so that companies can add an advert in that category before any companies are placed. Most of the content is only shown when you get to the final listings so it would be a good idea for any company in that category to advertise there.

Today I have added the Bolton Food and Drink festival pages. So great stuff is happening over the first two weeks of October. I am looking for pictures of all these events because I'm just not going to able to attend them all.
I've also improved some features on the directories to help people find what they are looking for and alternatives.
